This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

I don’t usually leave reviews before I even get home, but this place earned one. I came in with my two kids and from the moment we walked through the door, we felt welcomed. The service was amazing from start to finish. We ordered samosas, aloo tikki, garlic cheese stuffed naan, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and chole (the chickpea dish), along with rice. Everything was packed with flavor. The samosas were incredible, the aloo tikki was one of my favorites, and that garlic cheese stuffed naan was absolutely amazing. One thing I really appreciated was that the entrees came out in their own individual serving dishes. Everything looked great and tasted even better. We ended up with a ton of food, plenty of leftovers, and for three people the total was under $100, which was honestly impressive considering how much we ordered. As we were leaving, the gentleman who greeted us when we arrived checked on us and seemed concerned that we were taking food to go. I just wanted to make sure he and the restaurant know that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the food. My family just isn’t the type to sit in restaurants for long once we’re full. We eat, enjoy our meal, and enjoy t

Had dinner at this place tonight and I must say I was extremely delighted with the overall experience. A great restaurant experience comes from good food, cleanliness, friendly staff, and ambience — and this place delivered on all of it. I ordered Palak Paneer, rice, and Tandoori Roti. The Palak Paneer was absolutely outstanding and I enjoyed every bite. The staff was incredibly welcoming and genuinely pleasant to talk with. Trying to save a few calories somewhere (lol), I left about half the paneer in the dish. The gentleman noticed right away and kindly asked if everything was okay with the dinner and the paneer. I told him I was just trying to save calories… while completely finishing all the palak and the whole bread anyway 😂 Overall, this is definitely a must-visit place if you are in the area and in the mood for Indian food. 5 stars from me!

I visited with family first times and can’t believe it took me this long to visit. The restaurant is clean, even restroom also. a great atmosphere/vibe. The service was great by all of the employees, and very kind and always checking on us to make sure we didn’t need anything else. Here available like Masala Chai, Paneer Pakora. Only bhature given are oily. And not properly cook. One is hot and fluffy like puri other 2. Like in hurry they make. Chole so so. Tamater gravies ok ok. Can be improved. Parking difficult. Bear available.

I placed a phone order for pickup—chicken biryani (extra spicy) and vegetable samosas—and this place absolutely delivered. The portions were generous, especially the biryani, which came out perfectly moist and genuinely extra spicy without crossing into “too hot to enjoy.” It had that ideal balance of heat and flavor that keeps you going back for another bite. The vegetable samosas were excellent—golden brown, crisp, and cooked to perfection. Easily some of the better samosas I’ve had in the area. Service was just as impressive. The young man at the counter was friendly, welcoming, and made sure I had everything I needed, including to‑go silverware and plates. They even threw in some vegetables and a gulab jamun dessert free of charge, which was a really thoughtful touch. If you’re in Modesto and craving solid Indian food with great service, I definitely recommend giving Tandoori Flame a try.
